Whey vs Soy Protein

Whey vs Soy Protein

Reasons to avoid Soy, in no particular order: Antinutrients, Phytic Acid, Isoflavones, GMOs, Pesticides, and finally, if you eat any processed foods you're already getting a large amount of Soy you're probably not even aware of. Soy is high in antinutrients that block enzymes needed for protein digestion. Phytic Acids can keep your intestinal walls from absorbing essential minerals like zinc, iron, and calcium. Isoflavones are compounds that mimic the hormone estrogen and studies have shown can become toxic in the body at high levels. 90% of the Soy Beans grown in the U.S. are Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) and do not require labeling as such. The reason GMOs are farmed so extensively is so they can be exposed to high levels of pesticides to increase production, leading Soy to be the most pesticide contaminated food product. When you consider that Soy is used to feed chickens, cattle, hogs, turkeys and even salmon, and that its used as filler in baked goods, cereals, hamburger, smoothie mixes, and salad dressings.......Why would you want to add any more of this to your diet?
